Stephen West is a Director with Ramboll responsible for the Ground Engineering Discipline in the UK with a focus on Infrastructure and Transport projects. He has extensive experience in the successful delivery of ports and marine projects located within the UK, India, North Africa, and the Middle East focusing on aspects such as large span retaining walls, land reclamation in seismically active areas, diaphragm wall supported dry docks, and the use of pre-cast caissons for docks and breakwaters. Stephen is also a renowned expert in the field of large bridge foundations, most recently as the design team leader for the foundations for the new Queensferry Crossing in Scotland.
Upgrade of Port Jorf Las Far
Port Jorf Las Far is a strategically critical import centre for chemicals and petroleum products on Morocco’s Atlantic coast and was upgraded to meet the region’s economic development plans. This seminar summarises how the existing port facilities were upgraded using diaphragm walls and pre-cast caissons. The seminar will focus on the interface between the designer and the contractor to deliver value on complex port projects.
