Atkins

Chris is an Environmental Scientist specialising in the Coastal and Marine Environment, both in the UK and worldwide. He takes a lead role for Atkins in Environmental Impact Assessments on both new and existing infrastructure developments as well as the Technical Due Diligence and the specification of Construction and Operational Environmental Management Plans in both tropical and temperate environments.

Chris''s background and passion for Tropical Ecology and Integrated Coastal Management supports his involvement in undertaking coastal vulnerability assessments and identifying potential impacts of Climate Change and specifying appropriate adaptation. Focusing on the complex interactions between tropical coastal systems, such as coral reefs, seagrass beds, fisheries, coastal development and local communities.

Chris is currently Chairman of an International Working Group established to prepare best practice guidance for the mitigation of impacts resulting from marine construction and dredging operations on marine mammals and turtles.
